Edgar Degas, big fan of theatre and ballet and avant garde

Edgar Degas (1834-1917) was good friends with Édouard Manet and a big fan of theatre and ballet. He was one of the painters exposing at the famous Boulevard des Capucines in Paris in 1873, where the (initially intended to be mocking) name Impressionist was born.
