Yuri Petrov
1978, Russia
The Russian painter and composer Yuri Petrov (1978) initially studied composition at the Kazan Conservatory in the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia. After the first years of his training he mainly composed, especially for string quartet and for solo instrument with piano accompaniment. He also contributed to the development of a music learning method. He was a welcome guest in the local artistic circles, saw a lot of painting and was in close contact with many Tatarstan painters with whom he took painting lessons. "Painting gives me a different form of expression, but music and composition have always continued to haunt and inspire me. Later, when digitization follows in the music studios, I was always fascinated by how compositions took shape in images. I included these images in my paintings as I hear every painting I make first, and only then I make visual".
